During a recent stream EA and Maxis announced that The Sims 4 is going free to play with a bunch of new content ahead.
The Sims 4 has been around for almost 9 years and just now developer Maxis announced the sequel to the beloved simulation game, The Sims 5. At the same time the company wanted to ensure fans that more content for the current installment of the life simulator is heading our way.
The Sims 4 is getting a whooping two new expansion packs adding a total of two new worlds. No details have been revealed yet but more information should follow in the coming weeks. In addition Maxis also showed a blurred picture for a later reveal, when this image was shown baby giggling could be heard in the background.
EA did not exactly talk about the babies, but after the showcase an update was released saying that “infants will arrive in early 2023” implying that it will be an entire new life stage.
The Sims 4 is now Free to Play
In addition to plenty of new content the developer also revealed that Sims 4 is now free to play. Of course this does not include any of the extra content but if you haven’t played the game yet or want to get a friend to join the fun this is a perfect opportunity.

Even though The Sims 5 with its amazing new customization tools and multiplayer focus, EA and Maxis wanted to make sure that fans of The Sims 4 can still look forward to plenty of new content in the coming years as the release of the sequel is still a way out.
