Kokoro Kitchen is an adorable cooking restaurant management game that takes place in the spirit world. Of course, that means you’re dead and you don’t even remember how you got there! Plus, there are a few animal pens where you can keep cows and chickens. Play mini-games to prepare the ingredients for your dishes, then cook a tasty variety of meals. Thank you to Broccoli Games for a copy of this lovely game!
Coffee Caravan by developer Broccoli Games is a wholesome and cozy cafe management game. Think PlateUp!, but with a pastel color palette, you only serve variations of coffee, and there are difficulty levels that affect the whole game. Start your coffee-making adventure with the smallest trailer and basic equipment. Serve a variety of different customers in order to earn money. And experience an enjoyable, but sometimes challenging cozy game with a roguelite element!
This charming game puts you in charge of running your very own, albeit tiny, coffee shop. You start your journey with the smallest trailer possible and with the basic necessities like coffee beans, a grinder, coffee pot, sink, and cups. As you complete levels and earn money, you’ll be able to access the shop to buy upgrades to your equipment, new equipment and helpful items like counters, and add more coffee recipes to your list. If you successfully complete a whole run from start to end, you’ll receive a larger trailer, too! Plus, there are decorations you can buy that offer useful buffs and you have control over how your kitchen, seating area, and decor is set up. So, organize the kitchen to best suit you, and serve some coffee!

I love everything about Coffee Caravan. No, seriously. The start menu is relaxing and easy to navigate. The background music is chill, but upbeat. I enjoy the pastel aesthetic and the faceless character design adds a charm to the game. Being able to select recipes, organize my space, and decorate is a lot of fun too. The choice of easy, normal, and hard difficulties is perfect for different days. Some days I want the easy game, some days I prefer the challenge of hard difficulty. So, I have a save slot for each one!
What I’d never thought I needed was a roguelite element to my cozy games, but I love how it plays out in this one. No game will play the same as your roadmap will be different each time. And how you choose to play one map may differ from how you play others. The unique way this game lays out level choices adds freshness, too. You can choose from a laid-back level, or maybe visit the shop. Unless you prefer the challenge of a more hectic day, then choose that one and then hop on over to a bonus stage that might reward you with a new item, extra money, or even be a chance at another shopping spree at the shop. Or you’ll earn new customers or conditions to play through.

That’s not all that this game will have, though! In fact, the developers have just released an update for players who use macOS. This release also sees the addition of some great QoL updates like being able to switch the item in your hand with the item on a customer’s table! So, no more running to an open table or counter to free up hands. Just switch them out! There were some missing icons on recipes that have been added in, as well as a new confirmation for deleting a save on a gamepad. Then there were some optimizations to make the game even better.
The lovely developers have also release a roadmap that gives a general idea of what they’re working on and what to look forward to. First was the macOS release, which is to be followed by improvements for the Steam Deck, and the launch of a Discord server. Their goal for this summer is to release the Ice Cream World update so you can serve delicious, frosty treats instead of coffee. Plus, you get to look forward to new character accessories for customization and Russian and Korean localization. Later on this year, with no release date determined, Coffee Caravan will see the addition of Endless Mode for greater challenging fun, cat pets for you to enjoy, Twitch integration, Freeplay mode, and a new demo.

Overall, it’s a great little single player game. Play on whichever setting you prefer, and experience an ever-changing game with fascinating roguelite features. There’s also tea service you can unlock, and coming with the free summer update is ice cream! It’s a perfectly cozy game, or make it as challenging as you want, if you prefer that. Coffee Caravan really aims to provide a varied gameplay experience and they achieve that! I can’t recommend this game enough to the casual gamers out there.
I give it:
You can find Coffee Caravan on Steam now!

In Artisan Story, you play as an aspiring artisan who has just graduated from the Artisan Academy. Accompanied by your twin, you move to a small island where you’ve inherited an old farm and small workshop. There, you’ll plant and harvest crops, care for monsters as livestock, and craft items in pursuit of becoming the best artisan around. Get to know your friendly neighbors and fall in love. Complete quests, explore surrounding islands, and challenge yourself in a number of mysterious dungeons. This is your story, so craft your tale!
Artisan Story has 52 villagers, and 14 of them are romanceable. This new update focuses on these relationships. You can now experience Heart Events 1 and 2 with villagers. These events can deepen your relationship with someone. Unless you choose the wrong dialogue, that is! Saying the wrong thing can lower heart levels. So, choose wisely if you’re wanting to increase your relationship with someone.
There’s also a Monster Party system now. This means you can bond with one of the creatures you have on your farm. Once they’ve reached a high enough bond, they can then join you on your adventures. Your companion will follow you around, gather items, and even carry their own inventory. There’s even a cute new monster called a Jell. This cute little slime monster can be tamed and added to your barn!

You can grab Artisan Story on Steam right now. There’s a free demo to try before you buy, too. And next up on the list of coming updates is barn upgrades and more heart events!

In ChefRPG, you get to craft your very own culinary adventure. You’re an aspiring chef who is tasked with reviving a once famous restaurant. Le Sequoia was once the place to be, and brought tourists from all over to charming White Ash Harbor. Now, both the restaurant and town need a little love as they’ve seen better days. With your loving touch and a lot of hard work, you can revive both!
Spend your days exploring the gorgeous forests and murky swamp to gather ingredients like watercress and asparagus. Hunt boar, deet, and pheasant. Fish off the town pier for shrimp, salmon, and more. Then, use your fresh ingredients to craft the most delicious dishes to serve at Le Sequoia. Get to know over 20 beautifully designed characters and romance some of them. Complete quests, buy a house, decorate, and collect 240+ recipes. And with the latest Food and Festivals update, you can engage in some exciting seasonal fun.

The latest ChefRPG update adds some really cool things that I had a blast playing through. There were some bug fixes, of course, but there were mostly some added things. Random NPCs will interact with objects on the map and some can fish or water plants. Chatting with an NPC twice in a day will earn you a final chat with dialogue that’s dependent on your friendship level. All of this brings some great life to the game, while the increased magnet and pickup range makes collection a little bit easier. There’s also 10 new music tracks to enjoy and 100 new lines of dialogue to read.
Even the cooking got some updating. The Barista Machine mini game was totally redesigned into a physics-based game with no fixed time to complete. The Blender is now a Mixing Station with a redesigned mini game. The Stove, Oven, and Cooking Counters all have overhauled visuals and gameplay polish.

The best part of the Food and Festivals Update, though, are the festivals! ChefRPG is such a charming game set in a beautiful little town and the festivals just add even more charm to the world. There are 5 festivals that take place over the year and each has a token shop you can buy themed decor from. The Spring Harvest is a non-competitive festival that lets you enjoy the food stall, some small tasks, and fun low-stakes gambling mini game. Then comes Beach Solstice in the summer. This festival celebrates the seaside with its ocean-themed lamps, booths designed like elaborate shells, and is complete with beach chairs to sun on. There you’ll team up with an NPC of your choice to collect materials and craft lanterns that you then light. Compete against other NPC teams by building the most lanterns, with more points for accuracy.
Autumn is a busy season in White Ash Harbor with two festivals to enjoy. The first, which is my personal favorite, is the Pumpkin Hunt. This festival takes place in the swamp, which is fitting for the celebration’s slightly spooky vibes. You’ll compete against NPCs to earn the most points by running around town smashing pumpkins. The more points you earn, the better your reward. Then there’s the second festival of autumn which is Night of Spirits where the town comes together to honor and remember the spirits of the area. It’s a more somber affair, but still has a competition where you must collect resources, craft oil, and light lamps to lead the deer, boar, and dog spirits to their feast. Light the most lamps to come in first and earn the best prize.

The last festival of the year in ChefRPG is the Gingerbread Bake-Off. This joyous affair not only draws tourists from all over, but the whole town competes in it. While it is a competition, the ultimate goal is to build a life-sized gingerbread house! You’ll team up with an NPC, then take off across town hunting down gift boxes that contain the ingredients you need. Take them back to the temporary kitchen in the event space and bake gingerbread, whip up icing, and create gumdrops. Earn points and festival tokens when you turn in a finished product and win the competition by earning the most points.
You can pick up the excellent ChefRPG on Steam, and the Food and Festivals update is live now! Which means now is the perfect time to start this game if you haven’t already. These are some of the most unique, engaging festivals I’ve played in a cozy game. I mean, who doesn’t love smashing pumpkins? Plus, the token shop decor from each festival is excellent, too!
