The developers of Re:Legend have announced that their game will release in Spring of 2021.

It seems like Re:Legend has been on track to completion for longer than I can even remember. The game released a while back in early access on Steam, and has received mix reviews ever since. Many players have said that the game is too buggy, and if not fixed, will continue to be unplayable when it releases for consoles. Let us hope this is not the case.

    Re:Legend

Well, now Gematsu has reported that the game is finally going to release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and fully on Steam in Spring of next year. This comes as great surprise considering only recently has any attempt been made at bug fixes. Ideally, the most recent patch a few days ago will streamline the game into being what it was meant to be, an expansive open world exploration title worthy of our love and attention.

    About Re:Legend

Washed ashore on Vokka Island without memories, you must start a new life and find ways to recover your lost memories. In order to do so, you must first learn how to survive on the island by cultivating the land, befriending villagers, expanding the village and raising your very own magical creature known as “Magnus”.

Venture around the land of Ethia where Vokka island resides to reclaim your memories is no easy task as the world is filled with dangerous Magnus and threatening challenges. Will you be able to survive and rebuild your own Legend in your new life? Your fate is in your hand!

For those of you that have been following along on Re:Legend’s progress, a cooperative JRPG simulation game by Magnus Games, this will probably be the most important news and update of all! I’ve been playing the game since its release on Steam Early Access in late August and have been enjoying the quests, but it was taking me a bit of time to get accustomed to the controls and to play around with everything the game has to offer from farming, crafting, fishing, taming Magnus, and more!

In With the New, Out With the Old

With update 16.0 available now, it brings much needed bug fixes and a large overhaul of the multiplayer feature. It also brings brand new and exciting content with a side of very bad news for early players. So let’s get that bad news out of the way right now; everyone’s save files have been wiped and we’re all starting from scratch. This is what the developers had to say on that matter: “We understand the frustration of the save wipe, but with the full rework of many systems in the game, the old save files were hard to recover.”

    The Everdust Desert

With that said, new players will probably have a much better experience with more polish and rework to the game, and interactive tutorials. In this new major content update, we’ll be getting new items, new recipes, new armor, new quests, new NPCs, and much more! The largest focus is on the new biome; The Everdust Desert. This whole new Desert biome will have more than 30 maps and quests to explore, and 30 new tamable Magnus too.

    Season’s Greetings Magnus Tamers

As for festivals and events, we got a limited time pop-up island for Halloween, now we’ll be getting one for this holiday season as well. What we know so far is that we’ll be able to explore a frozen landscape with new Magnus, and old ones with a new festive look, as well as some seasonal decorations. We can see in the trailer above that the new festival may coincide with this new island event because, in Japan, lighting up floating lanterns and placing them in the water is celebrated during the fall and sometimes also during New Year’s to guide the spirits of their ancestors and ward off evil. Perhaps I’ll take part and say goodbye to my previous avatar.

I’d like to hear from you what you think about all of these changes for Re:Legend and if you’ll be playing during the holidays. The developers have mentioned that they have taken steps to safeguard save files for the future so it should be fine to fully dive into the game now! You can even get Re:Legend at 15% off here, as part of Steam’s Winter Sale.

Re:Legend is a monster-taming adventure RPG that I’ve had the pleasure of playing and giving my first impressions on my first couple in-game days thanks to developer Magnus Game Studio and publisher 505 Game. You can even try it for yourselves on Steam Early Access with a 15% discount only today! With the newest update, you can explore a Halloween-themed island with the chance to capture more Shadow Magnus! Read on below for more details on this spooktacular event.

About Re: Legend Halloween Island Event

As we draw closer to the night of All Hallow’s Eve, a chill settles in our bones and also our beloved world of Ethia. From behind the mists, a mysterious Island has made itself known to the denizens of Ethia by spreading darkness and scares. Where did this island come from, why did it reveal itself? All is left in the dark for now, unless there are adventurers that are willing to explore and brave the terrors to come.

Players will be able to explore a brand new island in the high seas of Ethia, where something spooky is flitting about terrorizing unlucky trespassers. All of you can look forward to new items and a new area to explore, and for those that are interested in Shadow Magnus then get ready your taming items. The Halloween event island will have a higher chance of spawning the eerie Shadow Magnus, so take the opportunity to stock up. However, you might need to progress the game a bit, if you’re a beginner, before reaching the Island. Just keep going and you might even see some surprises in the isle!

Re:Legend by Magnus Games is a farming simulation RPG I’ve been waiting to play for quite some time! Thanks to the publishers at 505 Games, we now have a Steam code to try it out and tell you all about it! Re:Legend is still in Early Access and continues to receive patches and updates often and therefore, I decided to do this feature in sections over time. Below you will see a video of my first in-game day along with the befriending with my first Magnus!

Washed ashore on Vokka Island without memories…

Creating my character was a lot of fun because of the unique hairdo choices, the adorable aesthetics, and the vibrant colors. I was so excited to start farming and raising some Magnus that I haven’t put much thought into the story of Re:Legend. The first second of playing, your character gets tossed off a cliff. You’ve got my attention! Then, my first couple nights of sleeping in my bed, I’m being haunted by a ghost trying to tell me something. I’m assuming it has something to do with whatever we’ve forgotten and need to remember, how intriguing!

    Befriending my First Magnus, Draconewt!

I’m eagerly awaiting the next update which will include the use of controllers for the game because that is my preference whenever action or battling is involved. The only other difficulties I had was taming the Draconewt as it wasn’t clear that “remaining in the middle” meant going the opposite direction of the arrow shown. Moreover, once you’ve given the required food to a Magnus to raise their affection toward you, you have to mount them and calm them. Personally, I find that to be a bit of a chore if I’m going to try and “catch em’ all”. However, your cave/barn area does seem rather large with dividing rooms so I can’t wait to see a bunch of Magnus roaming around!

    What Lies Ahead

When exploring my farm, there is a decent plot size for gardening, a pond area to keep some fish, a crafting area for better gear, and a hot spring to replenish some stamina! The map of Vokka Island alone will take a lot more exploring, so all of Ethia will keep me busy questing for quite a long time. I’ll definitely have to be better prepared to go out there again because dying means returning to the town’s hospital (and to the next day), and your Magnus returning to your farm. So far though, I’m in love with every villager I’ve met and can’t wait to get to know them better, especially Emilia. I’ll also do anything for those little penguin villagers.

On August 30th, we will finally get our hands on the game we’ve been pining for. Re: Legend, by Magnus Games! With early access opening so soon, Magnus Games has used their regular 25th-of-the-month update on Kickstarter to talk about what we can expect to see in the world of Ethia. Quite literally, too. We got a good look at the world map.

Magnus Games also made a second map to highlight the smaller islands, which will be of much interest to explorers. Is that island basically just one HUGE STATUE? “Sunken Valphyr”? And the other island looks like one enormous, jewelled turtle shell! And over there is a massive shipwreck! We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to explore these islands for ourselves! What will we find? Treasure? Special materials? Rare magnus? OH MY.

    Explore

With the Re: Legend just about to enter early access, everything we see now is still very much subject to change. Magnus Games is looking forward to player feedback during this period, to refine and add to their game to make it the best it can be. Those of us who will be waiting for the full release are grateful to the pioneers who will play the game in its rougher, not-entirely-finished state. Re: Legend already looks great. Imagine how much fun it will be when it’s polished to its final lustre! Magnus Games hopes to complete the early access phase in 9 to 12 months.

    Farm and go questing

Even in early access, there’s going to be lots to do. Not just finding and taming the game’s many magnus, but also farming and questing. In the screenshots Magnus Games posted, we saw evidence of several quests, such as to find the ‘forest island’ and to search for someone in trouble. We also need to get answers from a guardian? Answers to what? Who is the guardian! Our intrepid (and lucky!) early access players will get to learn these things for themselves in just a few days. We can’t wait for that sweet, sweet farming, whether on land or water.

    Befriend

Also newly revealed in this update was the existence of shadow magnus. They are special (and difficult-to-see) versions of regular magnus, but with special stats that make them well worth carrying around lots of taming goods for. They really are tricky to see, though. We think one is supposed to be in this screenshot. Do you think it’s that blue bit by the spot of light?

If a regular Draconewt has stats like this, what kind of stats would a Shadow Draconewt have? And what will it look like?

    re legend draconewt magnus

We have so many questions, and look forward to all the feedback that will be coming from early access players very soon. If you want to get in on this great action, go wishlist Re: Legend on Steam and get set to sail the seas on the back of one of your aquatic magnus buddies!

In the meanwhile you can also check out some of our previous coverage of Re: Legend and its upcoming early access period.

Re:Legend will be available for early access in the Steam store starting on August 30th, 2019.

    Re:Legend

For those of you out there who are like us and just can’t wait to get your hands on Re:Legend, we have excellent news. Developed by Magnus Games Studio, Re:Legend is an online co-op adventure game that features all the goodies we’ve come to love so much at myPotatoGames (i.e. farming, crafting, creature collection). This amazing title is going to be available to try out very soon, and we’ve got everything you need to know about being a part of the early access trial.

    About Re:Legend Early Access

Magnus Games Studio has decided to partake in early access on Steam so that they may further develop their title based on feedback. Allowing for early access gives many more gamers a chance to try out the title before it is finished, without having had to back the title on Kickstarter. Magnus intends to keep the game in early access for 9-12 months, giving them ample time to test many of the games nooks and crannies.

    Re:Legend

The early access version will be a smaller and unpolished version of the finished project. It will include enough features to give the developers an idea as to what needs to change before the full game is released. The final version will include much more content and appear more graphically polished. If you add Re:Legend to your Steam wishlist now, you will get a notification when the game is ready!

Magnus Games Studio, the developers of Re:Legend, have just given us another update which includes a new character, a new Magnus and more information on shops!

Re:Legend now allows you to upgrade buildings in Vokka Town once the feature is unlocked through story-progression. You’ll need to have the necessary items to give to the town’s Carpenter and then wait a few days. After that, you’ll be able to see new functions and wares for sale at your newly-upgraded building!

Emilia’s Item Shop getting an upgrade.

The new character, Hawke, will be seen wondering the Forrest and ready to help you with his wealth of knowledge on exploration and survival skills. He is quiet and greatly loves and respects nature. He is unforgiving to those that would disrupt the balance of nature.

    Hawke, the nature-loving explorer.

Finally, the Magnus reveal, the little tortoise Oriton. Oriton is one of the few Magnus that has two evolution options depending on your nurturing. Ceraton is a long-range spellcaster and Bigaton is a melee type! All versions use lighting for defense and attacks.

    Oriton and his many evolutions.

Keep following myPotatoGames for updates on this game! For more information behind this game you can go to Re:Legend’s website here. If you like the town-building aspect of the game, go here, and if you’re a fan of farming, check out our recent news of this game here.
