Super Zoo Story is a cute life sim where you run your very own zoo. You grew up around animals . Your father owned an old island zoo that has now been left to ruin after his passing. Instead of leaving it as is, you decide to take up the job and save your family’s legacy. Now, it’s your job to restore and revive your father’s old zoo and make it your own!
You’ll build all kinds of enclosures to house a variety of fun animals in Super Zoo Story. Become home to over 70 types of animals, including exotics and dinos! From rhinos to camels, wooly mammoths to dodos, you’re sure to have fun with all the different possible creatures. Each type has their own characteristics, appearances, and requirements for their habitats. So, you’ll need to build enclosures to meet their needs while also caring for them by feeding them and providing medical care. You can also combine DNA from animals and dinos to create some really unique and fun dinos too!
Don’t spend all day at the zoo, though. Go out and get to know Super Zoo Story townspeople and learn about them. There are over 40 unique characters to encounter, and you just might want to start a family with one of them. Even complete quests and help residents obtain their own animals to bring them happiness. You can also help restore the local oceanarium by populating it with different species of animals or go explore the island and see what you can find!

In Shinehill by developer Peach Bite, you play as a spy who has been assigned a tough new job. You arrive on an unfamiliar planet where you suddenly replace one of the residents. The trusting locals mistake you for a new neighbor and treat you with kindness by giving you a house and plot of land. From there, the rest is up to you!
Spend your days on this supposed island paradise becoming a champion fisherman. Or start a farm on your plot of land and tend to a variety of crops. You can even cook up some delicious meals in Shinehill and go exploring abandoned dungeons across the island that hold secrets. The real question is, what made your command turn their eyes toward this planet? Is there something shady going on and it’s up to you to figure out? Perhaps! Get to know your new neighbors. Help them out and learn their stories. Maybe even make friends, or become more. One of your new friends might actually be a threat to everyone else.

Aeruta is a unique action adventure game where you also run a bakery! In this world, bread is slowly becoming a distant memory. Then one day, the main character Chaya triggers an explosion by accident. She’s been living in a rundown town where she’s been tasked to help restore the bakery alongside the owner, Effie. And the explosion in the oven released the unmistakable scent of delicious bread!
Now, you’ll set out, playing as Chaya, to return bread to the daily lives of the village. Set out on a grand adventure to explore this beautifully designed side-scrolling world. Use weapons to fight enemies and collect resources. Then, use those resources you’ve found in Aeruta to experiment with different bread recipes. Sell your delicious breads in the bakery to earn money for its restoration. Build new places in town and watch as unique characters move in to repopulate the once floundering town!

If you’re unfamiliar with the excellent Roots of Pacha, developed by Soda Den, it’s a beautifully designed farming sim set in the stone age. Play as your own customized character as you help your community and farm precious crops and raise adorable animals. Take some time to fish, gather resources, and learn new ideas to make life easier. Get to know your fellow tribesmen and work together with them to improve the tribe. The survival of your people hinges on teamwork, but making friends and falling in love can be just as important! Even explore the mysteries the world has to offer. You may even find some new powers that will help you in your journeys.
The 1.2 Update
Here in just a few short weeks you’ll be able to experience the excitement of the 1.2 update, too. This update adds more perks to bonding with pets. They will fetch items from different areas of the map, like red meat or herbs. You can even choose a pet to become a trusty mount so you can glide across the landscapes and reach destinations faster! Then there’s the new watering system. Early on, you can discover the idea for the “olla”. The olla is a pot that sits in a hole in the ground and can be filled with water. It will then water the surrounding 8 plants for up to two days before needing a refill. This early idea makes running your farm much more efficient sooner than before.
The Roots of Pacha update also adds in some new features for your children, making them far more interesting. A school is a new idea that lets you send your toddler off to learn skills. Enrolling a child in school also allows them to grow into school-age kids and become active members of the tribe. They’ll hang around the village and have unique dialogue interactions now. Plus, you can dress them in new clothing sets, change their hairstyles and hair color, and see them at festivals. Building the school also unlocks learning stations that will have your children do various chores around the farm. So, this update turns your children from just an event to experience into useful new NPCs!
The 1.2 update doesn’t stop there, though. Enjoy two new locations union ceremonies, plus you can kiss your partner. Once they move in, they’ll get up in the morning when you do so you can chat with them before heading out for a long day of exploring or farming, and they’ll have new dialogue. Or if you prefer not to date anyone and don’t want to sit through romantic cutscenes where the NPCs confess their feelings, you can turn that off! The setting will be located in Settings>Gameplay and can be turned off at any point in the game. You will also have the opportunity to save the game at any time instead of being forced to finish a day and sleep through the night to save. And then there will be several QoL changes to help make the game even more enjoyable and fun for you!
Release Date
The Roots of Pacha 1.2 Update is releasing July 31st on Steam, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. However, that isn’t the only big news, as it’s also releasing on Xbox consoles the very same day! So, if you haven’t played the game yet, or are a returning player, there’s no time like now to start a new save!

Take orders from your guests as they decide on which tasty meals they want to eat. Then, head to the kitchen where you’ll cook up over 40 different recipes using over 60 different ingredients. Make use of 10+ kitchen tools like blenders, waffle irons, meat grinders, and the stove top to whip up some delicious meals.
Of course, you need to supply your kitchen with ingredients before you can cook anything. Spend time at the grocery store buying the needed ingredients for each of your recipes. Then, engage in a realistic cooking experience in the kitchen by boiling rice, frying fish, and much more. You can run the restaurant all on your own or even hire staff to help you out, too. Adventure mode offers an exciting, active play that requires hands-on attention. You’ll complete 7 unique levels that unlock different types of fish, critters, and decor items. The casual game mode lets you simply raise fish and decorate their environment!
Fishlets has over 48 fish with over 350 different color variants for you to unlock and collect. There are also other critters for you to collect, though. Snails, shrimp, and even axolotls are available to add to your tank. Plus, you can decorate the aquarium to your heart’s content with fun items like a pineapple house and plants your aquatic friends will love. Once you’ve gotten the tank how you want it, sit back and watch your creatures swim in peace and harmony!
