Minecraft Earth is finally here! The Pokemon Go inspired game lets you collect materials out in the real world then build whatever you like wherever you want, alone or with friends!
Minecraft Earth breaches the line between reality and video games and creates a perfect match between those two. Players will be able see reality turned into video game through the screen of a mobile phone.
Much like Pokemon Go the game encourages the player to go out and explore, but instead of hunting Pokemon you will be looking for blocks ( materials ) that you will use to create constructions anywhere you like – unleash your creativity, Minecraft style!
Minecraft Earth is now finally available for free on iOS and Android after an extensive beta earlier this year. The traditional Minecraft game available on Consoles, PC as well as mobile phones also received another update today!

For those of you that live under a rock and haven’t heard, Minecraft has been one of the longest and most successful running game franchises and is available on nearly every platform from mobile to high end consoles such as the PlayStation 4. Today the building game received a major update with a new character creator and adorable foxes!
The latest update brings lots of bug fixes but also introduces fun new features such as the new addition of foxes. While the they might eat your lovely chickens or steal your belongings you can feed them some sweet berries to tame them and make them your next best furry friend!
Furthermore the update brings an in-depth character creator that lets you change and adjust the “body size and shape, limb replacement and tweaking of eyes, mouth, hairstyles and colors, facial hair, and skin tones”. This has been a long requested feature I am so excited to finally be able to personalize the pixel version of myself!
Of course with Halloween just around the corner you can expect some mysterious and spoopy new additions to the game, a supsicious stew has been added as well as a wither rose that grows anywhere someone has died. Interesting!
You can read the patch notes below, for all the bug fixes that have made it into the game in todays update, you can check them out over here.

Pokemon Go has been one, if not the most popular AR ( Augmented Reality) game of all time. Today Minecraft Earth was announced that aims to follow the success of the former AR mobile game. Minecraft Earth turns your surroundings into a huge playground, letting you interact and build with friends in the real world.
Minecraft Earth breaches the line between reality and video games and creates a perfect match between those two. Players will be able see reality turned into video game through the lens of a mobile phone. Much like Pokemon Go the game encourages the player to go out and explore, but instead of hunting Pokemon you will be looking for blocks ( materials ) that you will need to create constructions anywhere you like. You can also find and take on different challenges scattered throughout your neighborhood.
The blocks you find and collect can be used to build and unleash your creativity. Much like the traditional Minecraft game, you will also be able to collaborate with your friends to play and build together. The game even allows for capturing animals and breeding them as the official website states “Minecraft Earth features many of the mobs you know and love, along with a bunch of new ones. Over time, you’ll get the chance to breed unique variants, and use them to populate your builds.”
I am so excited to get building, as Minecraft Earth was already available on iOS and Android this summer as part of a closed beta program and finally starts rolling out to select countries this month of October. Make sure you check out the fun Minecraft Earth trailer below.
