Looking for a new cute game to check out and share with friends. Wishing you would have tried that one awesome indie but never did. Well, perhaps that game is on this list of awesome Indies that are currently on sale through Nintendo’s Indie World Sale in the eShop.
As many of you may know, today was the airing of a new Nintendo Indie World Showcase, where Nintendo shows off all the wonderful indie games coming soon to Switch. There were definitely some cherry announcements today, including the launch of the sale.
You may recognize some games that were featured in past presentations, so you should have no trouble finding info on any of the games on the list.

Despite the trying times, developers have still been doing their darnedest to make sure gamers do not go without the experiences we crave. Many wonderful games were released throughout 2020, including some pretty sweet Indie games that Nintendo just can’t talk enough about. I certainly noticed some of my favorites on the list! The best time of the year to get a good deal on games is here. With Cyber Monday looming just around the corner, many companies have begun releasing their sales for this monetarily momentous occasion. Given that most of us are stuck inside, playing like mad on our games library, it never hurts to save a buck or two on a bit of options for expansion. Nintendo has become quite accustomed to decent sales of late, and the Summer Game Sale is one of their best so far.
So many games, I don’t dare try to list them all here. But, I will certainly choose some of my favorites to tell you about. The Summer Game Sale will run from today (6/9) until the 16th of this month (June), so be sure to check it out soon, lest you miss your chance to score some wonderful games at epic prices.
Some of the best Mario games are being discounted in the Summer Game Sale. Super Mario Party has been marked down from $59.99 to $41.99. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has seen the same discount, and is also now just $41.99. I’d say that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker falls into the Mario category, and has had its price reduced from $39.99 to $27.99.
Given that Mario is a spawn from the DK series, this is where I will include Donkey Kong County: Tropical Freeze which is now also priced at just $41.99. One super silly mashup including the Italian plumber is Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, which has had a drastic price drop from $59.99 down to $14.99. And last but not least on the Mario list is Mario Tennis Aces, which is now only $41.99.
I’m always keeping an eye out for indie deals, since I can never quite have enough of them in my gaming repertoire. The Summer Games Sale has some pretty cherry ones to choose from. Cuphead is certainly a major one that comes to mind, and is on sale from $19.99 down to $14.99. Nothing major, but a deal is a deal. Speaking of epic Indies, Terraria is also on sale from $29.99 to $20.99.
Knights and Bikes has been marked down from $19.99 to $15.99. Coffee Talk is reduced by just over $2, making it now $10.39. A Fold Apart is also just $2 off, so it now costs only $17.99. Overcooked 2 has seen a pretty good price drop, going from $24.99 down to $14.99.Also, Golf Story has had its price cut basically in half, leaving it at $7.49. Definitely some pretty great deals on some pretty great games!

As of late, gaming has been the center of attention as more and more people are trying their hand at video games, being stuck indoors and all. And with less people working, it never hurts to keep an eye on good deals, so we can still add variety while saving a buck or two. Nintendos Spring sale is now in full swing, and there are some pretty cute games worth checking out.
Happy Birthdays lets you create worlds the way you see fit. Each world is in the shape of the cube that is an open sandbox. You create whole ecosystems that you must carefully balance in order to grow organisms to meet objectives. Slight alterations in the temperature or geography could cause certain organisms to go towards extinction. The game is on sale from $39.99 down to $19.99 in the eShop.
The LEGO games take some of the worlds most popular game franchises, and rebuilds them with LEGO’s, always adding humor and a more family friendly edge. LEGO worlds is a Minecraft-like edition that allows players free roam to create anything that they like. LEGO Harry Potter Collection is currently $19.99, and LEGO Worlds costs just $11.99 through the eShop.
The Scribblenauts games are super cute and totally adventurous. Journey into Maxwell and Lily’s world as you use the power of your imagination to solve exciting puzzles in endless ways. Scribblenauts Mega Pack includes two games, Scribblenauts Unlimited and Scribblenauts Unmasked, and costs $15.99 through the eShop. Scribblenauts Showdown is a party version of the game franchise, and it currently costs $15.99.
Golf Story is a golf game like no other. Explore the world of a budding pro golfer and take part in all kinds of different sports related activities as you advance through the game. Golf Story is currently on sale for just $7.49, though the Nintendo eShop.
You’ll need to hold on for dear life and help each other to reach hard-to-get-to places. All you need to do is swing without falling or getting impaled by spikes and attempt to do it in record time if you so choose! Heave Ho is currently on sale for just $6.99.
Terraria has been a pioneer in the world of pixel art video games. The popular sandbox adventure game that prides itself in claiming “that nothing is impossible” is now finally on Nintendo Switch. Terraria is currently on sale for $20.99.
This title is an expansive adventure game that lets you take on the role of a tourist, traveling from place to place, partaking in many a grand adventure. Take part in all kinds of different activities as you view the world from the eyes of a tourist. Touryst is currently on sale for $13.99.
Brew and some java and spark a conversation in this wholesome talking simulator about helping others with a bent ear and an open heart. Coffee Talk was well received for its diverse cast of characters and relaxing gameplay. Coffee Talk is currently on sale for $11.69.

It’s already a new year and we’re off to a good start with some wholesome games releasing in January 2020. I’m still keeping on eye on games that haven’t been officially announced with a specific date but will be coming out sometime during the winter such as Garden Paws (Switch version) and Rune Factory 4 Special. The first Cook, Serve, Delicious! game came to PC and mobile devices in 2013. Selling more than a million copies, it was more than popular enough to warrant a sequel. Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2 was released for PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, as well as Mac and Linux. Now a third entry into the series will be releasing on Steam Early Access in January 2020.
This wonderful adventure under the sea about building relationships and making choices that will change the fate of all of creation was created by indie developer Paralune. Mythic Ocean has a free demo now and will be releasing on Steam on January 9th, 2020.
Bunny Park is a small little simulation game from creator of Alchemy Story, Éloïse Laroche. Expand and decorate your park, and collect and take care of various bunnies! The game will be releasing on Steam on January 14th, 2020 for a very inexpensive price!
Become the best Temtem tamer and explore the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago! This creature-collecting MMO, created by Crema, will be available in Early Access January 21st, 2020 on Steam and Humble Bundle.
Coffee Talk is a casual talking simulation game developed by Toge Productions. This game caught my eye in early development due to your customers being fantasy characters! Now, not only do we know that Coffee Talk will be releasing January 29th, 2020, but that it will also release simultaneously on PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One!

Gamescom is the world’s largest event for tech and video games held in Cologne, Germany. Unlike E3, there typically aren’t that many press announcements with release dates but rather you’re given the opportunity to play game demos and possibly get the chance to speak with the developers. This year, Gamescom opens its doors to trade visitors on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, and to members of the public on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Events and the show floor will be scheduled until Saturday, August 24th, 2019.
Anyone who is anyone in the industry has confirmed that they will be there including: Xbox, Nintendo, Square Enix, Google Stadia, Epic Games and many more. Geoff Keighley, host and producer of ‘The Game Awards’, will be producing and live streaming Opening Night Live. Check out his Twitter account below for the game publishers that are making announcements. Opening Night Live will also include Hideo Kojima, as confirmed by the man himself, to premiere an exclusive new look of his game Death Stranding. Opening Night Live will be streaming on all major streaming services when it begins on Monday, August 19th at 11 AM PT/2 PM PT/8 PM CEST. With this new addition of a pre-show, we here at myPotatoGames are looking forward to some amazing new reveals!
Another new addition to Gamescom 2019 is that developers of indie games will now have considerably more space in the entertainment area. Indie Village (in hall 10.2) will be showcasing more than 140 independent developers. The central element of Indie Village is the Indie Arena Booth, which has been taking applications from indie developers for a few years now and supplying them with booths. More than 100 games can be seen in the Indie Arena Booth alone. In addition, you can look forward to a stage program coordinated especially for indie fans, the MIX.

Other games like Cat Quest II by The Gentlebros Games are teasing that the announcement for their release date is coming soon and that they are “saving it for a special event.” We can only hope that they are talking about Gamescom 2019 as that is less than 2 weeks away!
