Here’s what’s happening with Hokko Life, the cutest indie life-sim that you should be following.
Hokko Life is definitely the cutest indie village life-sim game currently in the works, without a doubt. From the adorable characters, to the in-depth furniture and house customization, Hokko Life is one that I’ve been following quite closely! In case you missed it, you can learn everything that has been shared about the game leading up to this update in my “everything we know so far” article! For those that are caught up, here’s what’s new…
Location, Location, Location!
Lots of the different places in the game has been updated. Sole developer, Robert Tatnell, put a lot of focus this lat month in upgrading a few locations around the map. From the general store where you buy your furniture, down to the deep mines where you gather resources, the face of the game has had much makeup of late.
Online Play Upgrades
Robert has also been working diligently on some of the online functionality when it comes to sharing the items that you can create in the game. We can upload our crafted items to share with our friends. To share, we can now register our towns online and share our unique town ID. This will make it so we can visit our friends store, or just send them friendly letters to say hello.
Improvement to House Building
There is now a super cute builder friend that comes over to do the manual labor when you build a house. There have also been upgrades to placing things in the world, so that prettying-up your yard, or basically anywhere you choose, is super simple and flows like it should.
Changes to Resourcing
All of the sprites that represent the different resources have all been polished, making them feel more like the surrounding environment. Also, it looks pretty cool now to cut down and tree and see it disintegrate into its resource elements. There have been upgrades to fishing as well. Not to mention the addition of a collection book to keep track of the different items that you encounter in the game.
There is no doubt that Hokko Life is looking more and more amazing every day. I can’t wait to try it for myself. If you would like to follow Robert’s game more closely, or would like to become a part of the project, be sure to check out Hokko Life on Patreon. There, you can also find the full dev-log notes for the month of October, as I only covered some of it here!
