Go-Go Town has reached its 6th major update, and it’s an excellent one. If you’re unfamiliar with this brightly colored game, it’s a fun city builder where you’ve finally landed your dream job of mayor. Of course, you were promised a city surrounded by rolling hills and home to friendly locals. What they failed to mention is the whole place is failing and pretty empty. Your job is to revitalize this poor town!

Your role as mayor is easy on paper. In reality, there’s a lot more running around and physical labor to do. You’ll build the town from the ground up. Literally. Plot out homes, shops, and facilities. Collect the resources necessary to build these places, and then build them. At first, it’s only you, but as you invite more residents to live in new homes, you can assign them to run shops and facilities. Automating things will make life much easier on you, but your job is never done! 

Co-op Update

The recent update adds even more cozy fun to Go-Go Town, too. You can finally play co-op with a total of 4 players. You can also mix online and local players in the same game. There are 3 tiers to assign players to (Vice Mayor, Townie, and Tourist) that enables certain permissions with building, importing, etc. Text chat, location ping, and a new location widget will help you find your friends anywhere on the map (and them find you). Emotes add in a little bit of communication fun, too. And if someone needs to leave mid-game session, all of their stuff drops in a duffle bag so you can grab anything they had. 

Of course, there’s so much more to this update than just the long-awaited co-op. You can now rotate shops and buildings. The train station and zone entrances can be moved and rotated for more creative design freedom. Plus, there’s fast travel, new tools to discover, food to eat, garbage to dine on (maybe don’t do this), and items to throw! There are 6 new vehicles to own, too. The Hooptie, Hackney Motorbike, Good-e Bike, Flying Broom, and Galaxy Bouncer will add extra fun to moving around town. There’s also 9 new townies, new player clothing, and new decorative items. So, grab some friends and go see what you can create!
