Announced at the Indie World Showcase, A Short Hike releases on Nintendo Switch today!

A Short Hike is a wonderful little indie that was released in July of last year, and has received overwhelming positive reviews since. With lots to discover and many interesting folk to meet a long the way, fans have been raving about this peaceful little jaunt through the woods.

Now, even more lovers of nature will get the chance to try this game for themselves, as it is now available for Switch through the eShop for just $7.19. It is quite a great price for such a peaceful and relaxing indie game about exploration and finding oneself embraced by the splendor that is our natural world.

    Features List

    • Explore at your own pace, and in any manner you like. Be it flight or by foot, discover everything your environment has to offer.
    • Take your time! Do a little fishing or even stop for a chat with the locals. No need to rush.
    • Enjoy an original soundtrack by Mark Sparling that “progresses dynamically as you explore the wilderness.”

After releasing the Garden Story Demo that left all of us wanting more, the developers finally announced the game is coming to Nintendo Switch!

During the Nintendo Indie Showcase, it was revealed that Garden Story – previously only on PC, is now also coming to Nintendo Switch. Yay!

    About Garden Story

For the ones who don’t know Garden Story is an adorable game where you play as Concorde, a grape who happens to be the towns guardian.  It’s a task that would normally only require one to keep the village in good shape and the villagers happy, but something terrible has snuck onto the island under Concord’s watch.  ROT.

Rot has begun to spread through the island, and it must be stopped before it overtakes everything.  Thankfully, Concord lives in a village of nice peop…fruits.  They’re a great bunch!  If Concord is a good guardian and helps the villagers with their problems, they’ll be inclined to return the favour.

Concord will have to be wise with time, because there is an environment to take care of, an island that needs exploring, friendships to make, and puzzles to solve.

    Garden Story Release Date

Garden Story is currently still in development but expected to bloom on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2021. Take a look at everything new in Garden Story right here.

Prepare to team up with a friend for a honking good time when Untitled Goose Game gets local co-op update next month.

The Indie World Showcase sure did have some goodies when it comes to the Nintendo Switch indie community. One of the most exciting pieces of news came at the very end of the presentation. Untitled Goose Game will get an update next month that will add another goose for your friend to play as.

As if terrorizing the town alone wasn’t fun enough, now you can cause mayhem with a buddy. The update will be free to download for all that already own the game. The update also came with a trailer, which you can view below.

For those that missed it, the local co-op isn’t the only news we’ve had from House House recently. The game also just got its very own special physical edition, for everyone who wants to cement this wacky title in their games library forever!

Not only that, but the developers have announced that their game will be coming to Steam and Itch.io on September 23rd, this year.

Spiritfarer was one of my favorites games shown at E3 back in 2019. During Nintendos Indie Showcase today a surprise release for the cute simulation game has been announced.

The cozy management game is all about farming, mining, fishing, harvesting, cooking, crafting – all set inside a beautifully hand drawn world.

Spiritfarer has everything you’d want in a laid back sorta game, but this title comes with a heartfelt storyline that will guide players through an emotional journey. Spiritfarer is essentially a game about dying – which makes the time alive just so much more precious.

You play as Stella a ferry master to decreased as the developers of the game describe her. You will enjoy many activities and one of them is building a boat so you can explore the world around you. Of course you don’t have to enjoy your time on the open water alone, you can meet and befriend the many sprits before releasing them into the afterlife.

Spiritfarer Co-Op Fun as a Cat!

The game can also be played in a two player co-op mode where the second player will jump into the role of Daffodil – a cat! Take a peak at the super cute trailer below!

    Spiritfarer Available on Nintendo Switch

Spiritfarer was expect to release sometime in 2020 but no exact release date was given. Today developer Thunder Lotus surprised fans with a release on the Nintendo eShop. Spiritfarer is now available and you can get it right here!

A new Indie World Showcase means a bunch of new indie games are coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Seeing as how we got an in depth look at Summer in Mara at the last Indie World Showcase, I have high hopes that this airing will bring news of even more absolutely wonderful Indies coming to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch already has a pretty expansive list of great indie games to peruse, from epic life sims like Stardew Valley, down to quirky party games like Moving Out.

While not everyone is in to the whole indie scene, I certainly find that there are some real amazing works of art being shared by the indie community. Where would we be without all those innovative minds taking the risks that some of the big studios refuse to take, resulting in some of the best games in human history.

    Leaks / Rumors

For those that don’t totally dig Indies, there is other news with this Indie World Showcase. This Indie World Showcase was once again predicted, giving the hope that the predictions of an upcoming Nintendo Direct may be a reality. (deja vu much)

The new update for Stardew Valley will change everything…about your thoughts on moving beds.

The latest Tweet from Concerned Ape about update 1.5 has absolutely stunned the entire community. With a revolutionary stunt, Concerned Ape has now taken gaming into the next generation as he implements the ability to move your bed in the game.

What exactly does he mean by “move your bed”? Will we be able to rotate it? Flip it? Will it levitate? Will it become a new form of travel? Or does this just mean we will now have the ability to drastically effect the emotions of the bed? Only time will tell.

And what’s more, what sort of implications could this have on the rest of the game. Will the creatures in the mine be brave enough to approach after you’ve performed such a feat? Will your crops grow twice as strong knowing they have such a capable horticulturalist at the helm? I can only speculate, but this certainly very exciting stuff!

The developers of Fall Guys have mentioned that they would love to bring their game to more platforms.

With the instant success that Fall Guys has seen, it comes as no surprise that the developers are considering brining their game to more consoles. The adorable and wacky battle royale is great fun for all ages, and would totally fit on the most family oriented of consoles, the Nintendo Switch.

The developers also mentioned that they are currently focused on making the PC and PS4 versions as fun and functional as they possibly can before bringing it to new consoles.

    Help pick the platform!

They did announce, however, that they would like fan feedback when it comes to deciding which platform to bring the game to next. Fans of the game can visit the Fall Guys Discord or Twitter to voice their opinion on the matter.

And speaking of making the game as best as they can on current consoles, the devs also recently mentioned that the new update for the game will, most likely, be ready tomorrow, August 13th, 2020.
