[dropcap]A[/dropcap]nimal Crossing fans are impatiently waiting for a new game in the franchise. The president of Nintendo North America confirmed that Animal Crossing mobile is still expected to be released by the end of this year. Some analysts have also recently stated that the game is still expected to be released in December. Nintendo has released very little information about the upcoming Animal Crossing games for mobile devices. However, the big N did say that the game is supposed to work in conjunction with existing Animal Crossing worlds, such as Animal Crossing New Leaf or the expected but still unannounced Animal Crossing Switch.
In the last few days Nintendo has featured some new Animal Crossing artwork. The characters shown in these images are well known, yet they appear in a more refined, new looking style. Fans are speculating if this is the look of an upcoming Animal Crossing title for mobile and/or Nintendo Switch. Along with the new art, Nintendo also teased the fans with some cryptic statements as seen below. Furthermore Nintendo teases that K.K Slider can always be counted on for his 8pm live performance, could this be a hint at the next tease?

Nintendo has not released any information about Animal Crossing Mobile in quite some time. Reggie president of Nintendo North America confirmed recently that the title would still be released this year. Fans of the Animal Crossing series are impatiently waiting for some news on the mobile and/or Switch version of the game.
Macquarie Capital Securities analyst David Gibson, has expressed his opinion on the release window of Animal Crossing Mobile. According to Gibson Animal Crossing will come to mobile devices as soon as December 2017. Recent rumors stated that Nintendo is holding back on the mobile release of the popular village simulation game, as it’s preparing for an Animal Crossing Switch announcement. According to Nintendo the mobile version will work in connection with a full Animal Crossing game, which is expected to be released on the Nintendo Switch in the future.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]intendo has been quiet about the next Animal Crossing. With Animal Crossing New Leafs latest update now almost a year old, no confirmation on the next Animal Crossing game has been made. However Animal Crossing Mobile is still set for a release sometime this year. The last mainline game in the series is over 5 years old, and while sales have been a giving gift to Nintendo, the big N seems to be in no rush to release the next game on the Switch.
Nintendo Europe recently tweeted out that Happy home Designer has officially passed 1 million sales for the European Region alone. Considering that Home Designer was only a spin off game, like AC Amiibo Festival, these sales numbers are rather impressive. Animal Crossing has long been one of Nintendos biggest and most successful franchises. The next game in the series is just a matter of time, and will end up on the Switch according to Reggie, President of Nintendo North America.
In Europe, 1 million of you have been creating dream homes in #ACHappyHome. Thanks so much for playing! https://t.co/U7GikRoFZB pic.twitter.com/hiwuPDWklV

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]oday president of Nintendo North America broken the silence on the Animal Crossing franchise. Many fans hoped to see some news about Animal Crossing for smartphones or on Nintendo Switch during the most recent E3 in Los Angeles. However, fans were disappointed as the franchise was a no show at this years games convention.
Luckily Reggie has provided some more details about the highly anticipated mobile game. In the interview he stated that Nintendo still plans to release the game this year, with more information to come very soon. He further explains that the Animal Crossing Mobile game will broaden the franchise, similar to Pokemon Go, Fire Emblem and Mario run on iOS and Android. We expect Animal Crossing Mobile will receive a dedicated Nintendo Direct, in which the big N will provide more details about the gameplay.
So, specifically now, Animal Crossing. Animal Crossing development continues quite strongly, the teams are very excited about what they have. It’s an application that is going to launch this year, as we’ve committed. And we’ll be sharing more information in due course. We believe, just as we’ve seen with Pokémon Go, just as we’ve seen with Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, we believe that the application will help broaden the user base for Animal Crossing, and it’s going to end up having a positive impact on our dedicated video game business of Animal Crossing.
Interestingly Reggie also talked about Snipperclips, a game we very much enjoyed on Nintendo Switch. He said that Nintendo will continue doing smaller, and cute multiplayer games like this adorable paper cutting game. If you want to catch up on Snipperclips we recommend you read our Snipperclips: Cut it Out Together review. You can watch part of the interview with Reggie Fils-Aime below.
