Catan is the latest addition to the ever growing inventory of board games coming to Nintendo Switch. The original board game was created by Klaus Teuber and first published in 1995 in Germany. The game has since then gained in popularity and quickly became one of the best selling board games of all time.

Thanks to the mobility of the Nintendo Switch, fans of the game will be able to enjoy this multiplayer board game on the go, in tabletop mode, on the big screen or anywhere else you can think of using a Nintendo Switch. Asmodee Digital, publisher behind the game says the Switch port “will be showcased with all the benefits of the Nintendo Switch system while providing players with the full Catan experience.”

Nintendo hybrid console has seen some major board game releases, such as the Hasbro collection including Monopoly, Risk and Trivia Pursuit.

The game will also feature a local multiplayer mode so that only one Switch console is needed to enjoy the game with friends and family. Catan will make its way to Nintendo Switch on June 20th, 2019.
